Special Reunion 40 Years Later

A special reunionRetired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kimberly Mitchell was reunited with former Vietnamese Marine 2nd Lt. Bao Tran in Albuquerque, NM.  Tran rescued Mitchell from the war-torn Vietnam streets some 40 years ago.  Mitchell was rescued from her dead mother's arms then taken to an orphanage. Growing up in a military family after being adopted by a U.S. soldier, Mitchell served 17 years in the Navy and now continues to serve by helping veterans and military families as president of The Dixon Center at Easter Seals.
