- Our Work
- Connect Locally
Retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kimberly Mitchell was reunited with the former Vietnamese Marine 2nd Lt. who rescued her from the Vietnam streets 40 years ago. Mitchell now serves by helping veterans and military families in her role as president of Dixon Center at Easter Seals.
The Dixon Center team works closely with Easter Seals' staff and stakeholders at the national and local affiliate levels, creating synergies and a multiplying effect that dramatically enhances real access to services and advocacy benefiting military service members and veterans, their families and the families of the fallen.
Staff Sergeant Donnie D. Dixon was a career soldier -- a husband, father and son -- who was killed during his second tour of duty in Iraq. The Staff Sergeant Donnie D. Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Community Services honors the service and sacrifice of Staff Sergeant Dixon by addressing the urgent needs of military service members and veterans, their families, and the families of the fallen.
Our purpose: Enabling our veterans and their families to thrive where they live.
Men and women with multiple deployments are far more likely to commit suicide.
